Daniel Pettersson has worked as a freelance musician and educator since the end of the 90s. Throughout his professional life as a folk musician, Daniel has worked to bring archival material to life and spread the traditional music and culture both internationally and locally. The interest in the older traditional music from Västerbotten and southern Lapland has always been an important part of Daniel's music making. Based on tradition, he seeks new ways to bring historical source material to life. The traditional Scandinavian tonality, the drone of the bordun, and the role of songs as dance music are fundamental to Daniel's approach to music creation.
