Ebo Krdum

Ebo Krdum

Campfire blues for dark, lonely nights.

Ebo Krdum is a Swedish-Sudanese activist and artist, born and raised in Sudan. With music as support, he managed to escape to Sweden in 2010. Now he wins prestigious awards and is praised by critics and his colleagues within the genre of folk music. Musically, in Sweden he has combined Scandinavian folk music with Afro-pop and African blues.

The debut album Diversity (2021) received very good reviews in Sweden and internationally.

In May 2022, Ebo released his second solo album Love & Struggle, which deals with the realities of exile. In "Al-habeeba" he sings in Arabic about being separated from his loved ones, "like birds that have lost their target." In perhaps the album's strongest song "Saada simmo", he greets his family and Sudan. How much longing isn’t there in the line "May we meet again soon, my homeland?”

In 2022, Ebo was awarded a Grammy as Composer of the Year in the Folk & World Music category and he also received the Rhythm of the Year award at the prestigious Manifest Gala.
